Shawn R. Eagle, PhD

Title/Position
Assistant Professor, Neurological Surgery

    Education & Training

  • PhD, University of Pittsburgh (2019)
Research Interests

Dr. Eagle's work is multifocal with diverse interests in improving clinical outcomes for patients with TBI and/or exposure to repetitive head impacts including sport-related concussion, hospitalized populations and long-term sequelae. Current foci of Dr. Eagle's work include: 1. how systemic health at the time of injury impacts TBI recovery and long-term health; 2. Multifactorial relationships between bodily systems, exposure to TBI/repetitive head impacts, and long-term sequelae; 3. Improving prognostic models for patients with severe TBI; and 4. Leveraging implementation science to improve uptake of new technologies for the assessment and management of TBI into clinical practice.
